Company history
In 1973, the partnership "Guggenberger & Dobler" (Gudo) was renamed "Guggenberger & Dobler, Stanzerei und Werkzeugbau AG". Two years later, on July 14, 1975, the company was entered in the Commercial Register as "Gudo AG, Metallwarenfabrik". In 1995, they changed the name again; since then, it has been called "GUDO AG."
Due to the positive growth of Gudo AG, an industrial property in Oetwil am See was acquired in 1981. In August 1988, the new company building got into operation. In addition to a well-equipped production, they manufactured the plastic parts in-house installed a powder coating plant, and a modern tool shop.
In 1985, the two founders of Gudo AG separated, and Mr. Guggenberger took over the company. In February 1990, Mr. Guggenberger decided to sell the company to R. Burkhart for various reasons.
The previous successful course of Gudo AG was interrupted by the unexpected collapse of its primary customer, the Raichle AG company. However, introducing the new "Mega" closure type in the snowboard sector offset most losses. In addition, developing the helmet market with ratchet or twist closures for size adjustment opened up a new market. Finally, the acquisition of the production and patent rights of Swock AG strengthened the leading position in helmet closures.
Enrico Maraffio as new CEO
At the same time, the company entered the market for "automotive accessories" with ratchet fasteners, which has since become one of the largest and most important areas for Gudo AG.
In 2010, Enrico Maraffio became the new CEO of the succession of R. Burkhart. On June 22, 2012, Gudo AG acquired and transferred its shared capital.

Simultaneously, Gudo AG outsourced the stamping and powder coating processes to external partners. In addition, the company invested in plastic injection molding technology (2-component technology) and intensified its focus on development activities, including customer-specific and in-house developments. This ongoing transformation signifies continuous progress and evolution.
